ADMISSION AND SELECTION PROCEDURES

For B.S.W.

  1. A candidate who has passed HSC/PUC/ICSCE in any discipline (Arts, Science, Commerce) from a recognized Board of Higher Secondary Education is eligible to apply for admission to the B.S.W. Programme. Canditates who have not cleared their HSC/PUC/ICSCE exams in TWO attempts need not apply.
  2. A candidate applying for Bachelor’s in Social Work should have the following minimum percentage of marks in all subjects (aggregate).
  3. Category Minimum Percentage
    General Category 45%
    Catholic Minority and Reserved Categories (SC/ST/DT/NT)
    (And OBC/SBC recognized by the State of Maharashtra)
    40%
  4. All information asked for in the application form should be entered in capital letters or typed. Incomplete application form will not be accepted.
  5. Attested copies of the following documents should be attached to the application form.
    (The original should be produced at the time of interview)
    • Mark/Grade sheets of all the examinations the applicant has completed, beginning with S.S.C. or its equivalent..
    • Schedule Caste / Tribes, Backward Classes and Denotified Tribes Certificates if applicable. Caste Certificate (where applicable) Certificate of Baptism (for Catholic Minority) Disability Certificate (where applicable)
    • Diploma Certificates of training undergone other than formal education (e.g. Music, Social Service, Photography, Journalism etc.)
    • Certification of participation in extra curricular activities.
    • Recent Passposrt size photographs.
  6. Foreign applicants should pay US $ 50 for application form and prospectus.
  7. Applicants are expected to have adequate and good knowledge of English and a working knowledge of Hindi/Marathi.
  8. The cost of form and prospectus may be paid by DD in favour of “ College of Social Work.”
  9. Admission will be confirmed once the Eligibility is certified by the University of Mumbai.


For M.S.W

  1. A candidate applying for Master’s in Social Work should have the following minimum percentage of marks in all subjects (aggregate) at graduation or post-graduation level.
  2. Category Minimum Percentage
    General Category 50%
    Catholic Minority and Reserved Categories (SC/ST/DT/NT)
    (And OBC/SBC recognized by the State of Maharashtra)
    45%
  3. A candidate holding Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline (Arts, Science, Commerce, and Social Work) of a recognized University is eligible to apply for admission to Master’s Degree in Social Work.
  4. Application forms of candidates, who have appeared for their graduation examination from Universities will be accepted pending result, provided that their results will be declared before the date of the Entrance Test.
  5. All information asked for in the application form should be entered in Block letters. Incomplete application form will not be accepted.
  6. Attested copies of the following documents should be attached to the application form:
    (The original should be produced at the time of interview)
    • Mark / Grade sheets of all examinations the applicant has completed, beginning with S.S.C. or its equivalent.
    • Diploma / Certificates of training undergone other than degree education (E.g. Music, Dance, Social Service, Photography, Journalism etc.).
    • Catholic Minority candidates should submit Baptism Certificate.
    • All reserved category candidates should attach the Caste Certificate admission will be given on the basis of the rules of the Government of Maharashtra.
    • Candidates should submit attested copies of marksheet of 1st ,2nd , and 3rd year Examinations OR mark sheets of all Semesters and the passing certificates.
    • Recent Passposrt size photographs.
  7. Foreign applicants should pay US $ 50 for application form and prospectus.
